Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information may be processed when you use C-T-ZEN and which parts remain only on your device.
Who operates C-T-ZEN
C-T-ZEN is an independent educational project operated by an individual based in the United States. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to iam@c-t-zen.com.
This policy applies to the C-T-ZEN website, installed Progressive Web App, and the study features available through c-t-zen.com.
Information stored on your device
C-T-ZEN does not require an account. The app uses browser storage to remember interface language, civics test version, flashcard order, study and exam progress, update choices, and installation prompts. A service worker and browser cache store application files so the trainer can work offline.
This local information remains on your device and is not intentionally transmitted to C-T-ZEN. You can remove it by clearing site data, browser storage, or the installed app.
Google Analytics
C-T-ZEN uses Google Analytics to understand visits, page usage, device and browser types, referring pages, approximate location, and interactions with the site. Google may process IP addresses, cookies, device identifiers, and similar technical information according to its settings and policies.
Analytics currently loads when the trainer, Support pages, or payment confirmation page is visited; C-T-ZEN does not currently provide an in-site analytics consent control. You can limit cookies through browser settings or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Learn more in the Google Analytics privacy disclosures and Google Privacy Policy.
Stripe support payments
C-T-ZEN links to a Stripe-hosted page for optional one-time support. Stripe does not load with the trainer. When you choose to continue to Stripe, Stripe may collect technical, device, cookie, transaction, contact, and payment information for payment processing, fraud prevention, security, and service analytics.
C-T-ZEN may receive transaction details made available by Stripe, such as payment amount, date, status, and contact information supplied during payment. C-T-ZEN does not directly collect or store your full payment card number or card security code in the app. Read the Stripe Privacy Policy and Privacy Center.
Email and external links
If you email C-T-ZEN, the message, your email address, and any information you choose to include are processed to respond to you, investigate corrections, or handle privacy requests. Messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for those purposes and recordkeeping.
The site links to USCIS and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices, content, and availability are controlled by those services, not C-T-ZEN.
Retention, sharing, and international processing
Local app data remains until you clear it. Google, Stripe, email providers, and hosting providers retain information according to their settings, contracts, legal obligations, and privacy policies. C-T-ZEN does not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to operate the site, protect it from abuse, or comply with law.
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may process request, network, device, and security information to deliver and protect the service. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy protections may differ from those in your country.
Your choices and rights
You can clear local site data, restrict cookies, use browser privacy controls, or choose not to use Stripe or email. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about applicable personal-data processing.
Send requests to iam@c-t-zen.com. C-T-ZEN may not be able to identify anonymous Analytics data. Requests concerning data controlled independently by Google or Stripe may need to be submitted directly to those companies.
Security, children, and changes
Reasonable measures are used to keep the static site and its dependencies secure, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. C-T-ZEN is intended for naturalization study and is not directed to children under 13. The project does not knowingly request personal information from children.
This policy may be updated when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective and last-updated dates will be revised on this page.
